LAWN TENNIS.
On Saturday a team from the Woodend Tennis Club visited Christchurch and played, a match against a team from the Windsor Club, which resulted in a win for the.former club by five games. Some of the matches were somewhat interfered with by showers of rain which fell during the afternoon. Refreshments were served by the Windsor Club. Results: —

The return match between tbo Ashburton and the Linwood Clubs was played at the Linwood Club’s courts, Stanmore Road, yesterday, in the presence of a good number of spectators, and after some very enjoyable games, the local club won by a majority of -fifty-seven games.
