[Pee Press Association.J AUCKLAND, March 16. Mr J. H. Witheford, now in London# cables to the Auckland Harbour Boardthat he has brought the matter of the Calliope Dock before the Horse of Commons and anticipates that- the Admiralty will equip the dock. ( At the inquest on Robert Sergeant, , killed in Wyndham Street, a verdict was , returned of “ Death by serous apoplexy* excited by a fall under the feet of a* horse.” At the Bay of Islands district meeting it was decided, as applications for additional licenses were coming in sorapidly for every Native and hack race meeting, that no more would be granted, and that at the next annual meeting of the Committee the number of .conditional, licenses would be limited.
