Ten days ago the licensee of the Ship Hotel was robbed of .£l6 from clothes in his bedroom. A lodger named Casey was arrested, but no evidence was available .and he was discharged last Monday. He was arrested again last night at St Andrews for creating a disturbance, and Constable Crawford recovered a plant made by the prisoner, comprising part of the money stolen from the hotel, some of the. notes being identifiable by the licensee. BBs mate had.a bundle of skeleton keys. Both were remanded on these charges, and each was sentenced to three months’imprisonment for creating a disturbance.
