PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

BELFAST.' The annual festival of the Belfast schools was held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, in Wingfield Park, through .the v kind permission of Mr Cambridge. At noon, 380 children attended for luncheon, and then the. sports took up the time very pleasantly until 4.30 o’clock, when‘46o children enjoyed a plentiful repast on the front lawn of the school. The' adults present numbered from 250 to 300, and were entertained with refreshments at a garden party, and carefully waited on by the “old•'scholars" of the school. At six o’clock a general meeting on the lawn was held for the distribution of the school prizes, which were distributed by Mr Buddo, a member of the Education Board. At the-close, of the distribution hearty ..cheers wefegiven for Mr Buddo, for Mr E. Thompson, chairman of the school committee, for the teachers, particularly the head-master, Mr Ferguson,, and for the Queen.
