ST MART’S HOME.

TO THE EDITOE.

' Sxb,—As the lease of the premises at present occupied by St Mary’s Home, Addipgi jton, will shortly expire, and as the building is old and ill-adapted for its purpose, it has been decided to build a new Home on a niece of land which is under offer from the Church Property Trustees at a moderate 'rental for a term of years, with an optional purchasing clause, situated on Stapleton’s Koadj Bingsland. It is px-oposed to erect a building at a cost not exceeding .£IOOO,, capable of future enlargement; and towards this there is a sum of nearly .£SOO now in hand as the result of a few months’ canvass, and which it is proposed to supple'ment with a like amount by the issue of debentures’. The saving of the rent and ; other: charges in connection with the present building will afford the means for paying the interest and provide a sinking fund for the redemption of the debentures. The Home has been so long established and been the i means of rescuing so many young girls from a downward course, that it is high time, that it was in possession of more 1 suitable premises of its own; and tho Committee would ask for the continued sympathy and support of the public in their undertaking.—l am, &c., A. F. N. BLAKISTON, Hon Treasurer,
