PROPOSED ELECTRIC TRAM WAY.

The representative of the TaurangaEotoiti Tramway Company interviewed Mr Seddon regarding the hearing of the Tramway Act, 1894, and the Land Act, 1891, on the proposed tramway. It is understood that the Premier expressed the opinion that there was nothing in the Acts ( to prevent the company carrying out its objects. AUCKLAND, Sept. 6. A cablegram from Mr A. J. Vogan states that in an interview with Mr Seddon at Sydney he proposed an electric tramway between Taurauga and Rotorua, for which English capital was offering if a land grant was obtainable. The Premier said that he was favourable to the scheme, and in similar works there would be no difficulty so far as the lauds of New Zealand were concerned.
