ORANGEISM.
A meeting of the committee of No. 32 Star of Sydenham Lodge and of No. 3 Victoria was held on Monday evening at Mr P. Taylor’s house, Colombo Eoad, Sydenham, Bro. Taylor presided. The various committees gave in their reports, which were considered satisfactory. It was reported that a good programme had been arranged for the concert and dance, and that the tickets were selling well. Wills will supply the music.
The monthly meeting of No. 3 Victoria Ladies’ Loyal Orange Lodge was held on Friday evening in the Druids’ Hall, Colombo Road, Sydenham. The President, Sister Gourley, occcupied the chair, and Sister Taylor the vice-chair. There was a very good attendance of members. Correspondence was received from the Secretary of No. 2 Ladies’ Lodge, Sonthbridge, and also a, letter from Bro. Brown and an invitation to attend a “ social ” to be held by No. H Scarlet Lino Lodge. It was decided to accept the invitation, and to send a letter of condolence to No. .33 "Richmond Lodgo in connection wii! h>* d-.-lh of Bro. Mullhoiland. The Lodge <.uv.lii.-d, out of respect to the late Bro. Mullholland and the late Sister Emily Temby, to go into mourning for three months. Two candidates were initiated into the Order, and several were proposed as members. The lecture wan given by the President, Sister Gourley, and Sister Taylor. The committee gave in its report regarding the concert and dance to be held shortly, and reported that tickets weie selling very well. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the visiting sisters of No. 1 and No. 7, and was responded to by Sister Regan of No. 1, and Sister Brown of No. 7. After all the business was • transacted the Lodge
was closed in due form by the President, Sister Gourley, and a pleasant evening was ' brought to a close with the singing of , " God Savo the Queen.” The funeral of Mr James Mullholland,. which tookplaceatthe Addington Cemetery, on Tuesday last was largely attended by members of No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 Lodges, Sydenham, and No. 3 Canterbury' True Bines, No. 4, No. 32, and No. 331 Rising Star of Richmond, of which the';; deceased had been a member for a great ; number of years. The deceased was very ! highly respected, and by his death the Society has lost a valuable member. The funeral service was conducted by the, Church of England clergyman, and then the Orange service was performed over . the grave-by Bro J. M. Douglass, Past Grand Master, and Bro Caygill, Grand Lodge Secretary,
