ISY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—[Per Press Association.] A LIBEL CASE. LONDON, April 30. Mr Alfred Beit, one of the directors of the British South Africa Company, recently-brought an action for libel against a newspaper published at Essen, in Prussia, for its comments regarding his administration of the Kimberley diamond mines. It is now reported that the action was dismissed on the ground that the comments of the paper were justified. THE QUEEN. The Queen has left Cherbourg on her return to England. CHIEF JUSTICE WAY. Chief Justice Way has been summoned to attend at Windsor on Tuesday, for the purpose of being sworn in as a member of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. THE NEW GOVERNOR OF FIJI. Mat 1. - Sir George O’Brien, successor to the late Sir John Thurston as governor of Fiji, will leave Vancouver for Fiji hy the Aorangi. RINDERPEST. CAPE TOWN, April 30, The Cape Budget shows a surplus for the year of half a million, which will be devoted to stamping out rinderpest.
