CANTERBURY AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.

The following entries have been received for the Cantei’bury Amateur Athletic Club’s autumn sports, which will bo hold at Lancaster Park next Saturday. The number of entries beats the record of any first-class amateur gathering yet held in Hew Zealand. A flue day is all that is now required to make the meeting an unqualified success, and it is to be hoped the club may bo fortunate in this respect.' The entries for throwing the cricket ball are still in the hands of Mr J. S. Hawkes, who has already the names of more than twenty-five competitors. The entries from the members of the Hard ware Athletic Club are in charge of Mr Thomas Kerr, honorary secretary of the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club, but are withheld from publication pending a definite decision from the Hew Zealand Amateur Athletic Association regarding the affiliation of the Hardware Athletic Club to that body.
