' The following head office report of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, for the week ending March 6, has been received from Dunedin from our special correspondent:—Smelting plant— Furnaces Nos; 1 ami 2 were running continuously until yesterday,, when both were shut down-temporarily for cleaning,up fine dust, distension of smelting plant—Minor carpenter’s work on buildings for additional furnaces, stoves and boilers is in band. The erection of No. 3 furnace is iu progress. The corner columns and mantel frame are in place. Converter plant—This has been working continuously with one vessel.
