THE CORPORATION CLOCK.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am on a visit to your beautiful town, and have been somewhat amused at the controversy that has been going on in your columns in regard to the clock. None of the writers seem aware of the fact that it would cost ,£3OO or £4OO to placo a clock on the casting. I would suggest that _it should be made into a drinking fountain, and placed in some central position. It would cost practically very little to do this, and it would put an end to the present controversy over it.—l am, &c., PONEKE.
