At the Supreme Court, Caroline, Parry sued George Crothors for -C2OO for breach of promise of marriage. There was no appearance on the part of the defendant, and the full amount was awarded. The criminal calendar is short, but there are several important civil cases. In the case Eegina v. Hill, a charge of murder, the Grand Jury threw out the bill, but a true bill was found on the charge of concealment of birth. His Honor, however, on the depositions directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty, the evidence of concealment being insufficient. The charge against Gillingham of attempted murder was heard, and a verdict of “ Not guilty ” was returned.
