CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, March 5. (Before Mr W. H. Cooper, J.P., Mr W. Prudboe, J.P., and Mr S. Lawrence, J.P.) Drunkenness. A first offender, a woman, was discharged with a caution. Vehicle Unattended. —Sarah Leech was fined 5s and costs 7s for leaving a vehicle unattended and without one of the wheels locked. Firing a Gun in the Street.— -Matthew Woodward was fined 10s and costs for firing a gun in a street in Linwood. Prohibition Orders. Prohibition orders, to apply to Christchurch and suburbs for twelve months, were issued against two men. '' City By-laws— Thomas Taylor and Alexander M. Owen (Working Mens Cooperative Society) were each ordered to pay tho Court costs (7s) for keeping kerosene in stock without a license. —Henry Wardell, who did not appear, was for a similar offence fined 10s and costs /s. A. Walker and S. Buggey were each fined 5s and costs for plying for hire without having their cabs duly licensed.—Silas Cox was fined a similar amount for plying for hire as a driver without being licensed—J. S. Berry, William Newton and J. Kennedy were each fined 5s and costs for not having their carriers’ vans licensed. J. Gribbben, James Pepperill and George Bush were each fined 10s and costs for keeping lodging-houses which had not been licensed.
