CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA CLUB.

A meeting of the Executive was held on Friday evening at the Canterbury Rowing Club’s boathouse; present —Messrs Evans, (chairman), A. L. Smith, M’Donald, Killner, H. H. Smith, Craddock, Kesteven, and Homan. The following correspondence was dealt with: ; —From the Wellington Rowing Club, asking if races numbers four and six on the programme could bo transposed. The Secretary had replied stating that the regatta was too near to allow the Executive to make the proposed alteration. Prom the same club asking for the loan of a boat for certain races, and Mr Kesteven, on behalf of the Union Rowing Club, offered to lend the boat in question. 1 From the Star Boating Club, regarding the transit of boats. The Secretary was instructed to give the necessary information. From the Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, stating that the Holiday Committee would recommend offices to close at noon on the day of the regatta.. From Mr Ashton, stating that he would supply visitors to the course with hot or cold water and- milk. The treasurer reported having sold the right of confectioner’s booth to Mr L. J. Smith. The secretary was requested to hire a tent from Mr Trist as agreed. The provision of badges for officers was left in the hands of the treasurer. It was decided to hold a meeting on Wednesday at 5 p.m., at the secretary’s office, to receive entries.
