CHRIST’S COLLEGE RIFLES.

The Christ’s College Eifles have done very good work at their camp in Mr Mon elds paddock, Sumner, which will be concluded this morning. The average daily attendance was about thirty. Captain. Day was in command, and Lieutenants Smith and Merton were present. The work was done under the supervision of Staff-Sergeant-Major Barrett. Parades were held daily at 5.45 a.m. and 6.45 p.m.; and the members of the corps went to their civilian avocations during the daytime* The smartness of the corps was considerably enhanced by the training; and the camp was kept in a creditable state of order. , The officers gave a prize for the best kept tent, which was awarded to that occupied by Sergeant Gibson’s squad. Yesterday there were thirty-seven members in camp. In the morning the corps attended All Saints’ Church, where divine service was conducted by the Eev 11. Williams. In the afternoon the corps was exercised \ in guard mounting. A large number ot ’ visitors, including many ladies and several members of other corps, were in camp, and were entertained at afternoon tea iff the tents. In the evening a parade was held for purposes of drill. The arrangements in connection with the camp were very satisfactory, and the conduct of the men was very good. Last Thursday night the corps gave a smoke concert in camp, at which a number of visitors were present.
