PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.

ST MARY’S, MEEIVALE. On Wednesday evening tho scholars attending this school met for tho annual prize-giving. There w r as a good attendance of parents and friends. Tho vicar (Rev H. Airay Watson) presided, and congratulated tho teachers, Miss M. Cooper and Miss M. Barker, on the improvement that had taken place. The prize-winners Jwero; —Scripture, Jane Booso and Amy 'Brnnton; History, Jane Roose and Annie Koose; Geography, Jane Roose and Frank Harvey; Arithmetic, Jano Roose, Nellie Barker and Nellie Marshall; Science, Annie Roose and Charlie Brnnton; Drawing, Amy Brnnton; Special prize, Tottie Chuclley; Infants, F. Haynes, Nellie Brown and I'. Brock. Air 'll. K. Webb addressed tho children, encouraging those who had failed to got prizes to persevere. TAI TABU SCHOOIf. The annual prize distribution took place on Thursday. Mr Robert Macartney (chairman of the committee) presided, and distributed tho prizes. Each child who had passed a standard received a book and the infants a picture-book. Mr Fountain Barber’s popular prizes fell to Winnie Limbrick and Leonard Bcryman, and Air S. Carloton’s reading prizes .to Minnie O'Connor Standard VI., Cissie Lowe Standard IV., and Anuio Millior Standard 111. Sewing prizes: Standard AM.
