RHODESIA.
STRONG COMMENTS BY MR RHODES. [Per Press Association.] CAPETOWN, Dec. 27.
In the course of his speech at Port Elizabeth, Mr Rhodes complained that he had presented Rhodesia to a Power which -was now out of sympathy with himself. He referred to what he termed the unctuous rectitude of the British Government, and stated that Mr Parnell had promised him that a clause should be introduced in the Home Rule Bill, allowing colonies to be represented in the House of Commons.
" The hostile tone latterly adopted by Mr Rhodes is much commented on in Capetown.
