ORANGE GRAND LODGE.
[From Our Correspondent.] TTMARU, Dec" 28. The Grand Lodge of the Middle Island met this morning, Grand Master Mathers presiding. Fifty delegates were present. It was reported that the number of members was one thousand, and the credit balance .£4l. The election of officers resulted as follows ;--G rand master, Bro Mathers ; deputy-master, Bro Middleton ; secretary, Bro Caygill; treasurer, _ Bro I) ill in; assistant secretary, Bro Willis ; auditors, Bros Robertson and Kinnimouth; chaplains. Revs Sharp, Brooke, Grey and Greig, Bros Dyson, Beresford and Hilton; grand committee, Bros M’Cullongh, Greig, Hilton, Ricketts and Hanna. The Lodge sat down to a banquet in the evening at Worry’s Temperance Hotel. There was a large attendance. Congratulatory speeches were made by prominent officers. It is expected that the business will he concluded to-morrow afternoon.
