ALLEGED UNSEAWORTHY VESSEL.
[Pee Pbess Association.] DUNEDIN, August 28. Five of the seamen of the barque Deva, which put in here from Port Pirie for London, were charged to-day with disobeying lawful commands. The men assert the'vessel is not fit to go to sea with such a cargo as sulphide ore. Captain Thomson, Lloyd’s surveyor, and others gave evidence that she is seaworthy, but a shipwright and others gave evidence to the contrary. The case was adjourned for further evidence.
