PIONEER BICYCLE CLUB.

.The- 'eighteenth annual’ meeting of. the Pioneer Bicycle’ dub *was held last evening .at tne rooms. Cathedra! Sqtia?’e.“ Mr U. F. .ilnrie, captain, presided, and there was'a .large attendance of members. The Committee, m presenting the report, conaratu.iated xne. members on the continued •prosperity of the olhb. The present number ox active members on the roll was 134, as compared with 110 for the previous season. ■ Several improvements Ax d iL effectGcl ia club- rooms. At the Championship Meeting Mr C. H. Jones, a member of. the Club, had won the mile championship of the colony. Mr Jones Mid since left for England, where he intended racing, and tho committee wished mm every success there. The committee congratulated Mr Harry Thompson on .aolcling all the New Zealand records from half a mile to twenty-five miles, and also the Australasian record for one hour. The fifty-mile road race, over the usual course, nad been won by Mr T. H. North. The •officers and committee wished to thank the Hon E. C. .1. Stevens,. Dr Jennings and Mr J. 11. Parker ior donations to the prize fnnet; Mr A. S. Preece for his gifts of photo* graphs, .and the Press for its support,' The. balance-sheet showed, that the receipts had. been .£407 13s. Id and Hie expenditure .£363 l3s’sd, leaving a credit balance of .£43 19s, . ‘Vi- The balance of assets over liabilities was £195 14s.

The election of officers resulted as follows : —Patron, His Excellency the Governor ; president, the Hou E. C. J. Stevens (re-elected); vice presidents. Sir W. Perceval and Dr Jennings (re-■ elected); captain, Mr F, Deuby ; deputy captain, Mr H. Thompson; honorary secretary, Mr J. C. Baldwin: hono- - rary treasurer, Mr T. E. Chisnallp committee, Messrs E. E. Daniels, W. J. S. Hayward, F. J. Dunn, W. Langdown, G. Rankin, W. P. Waller and P. WynnWilliams; delegates to the New Zealand Cyclists’ Alliance, Messrs W. J, S. Hayward and F. J. Dunn (re-elected); auditors, Messrs A. Lowry and F. Cooper. On the motion of Mr F. Cooper, itwas decided to allow the members of the Atalanta Cycling Club the use of the club rooms from 10 a.m. to G p.m. on week days. ■ :

An honorarium of three guineas each, was voted to the retiring Secretary and Treasurer.

The committee was empowered to arrange for an opening run at an early date. The question as to the most suitable place to hold the next Cyclists’ Alliance'championship meeting was brought up. A' dismission took place, but no decision was arrived at, the meeting being adjourned till next Thursday.
