Te Whiti and Wahine had a set-to over seven furlongs, which took Imin 40sec, the former proving an easy victor, hard held. Scotch Lassie beat Port in a mile spin, taking Imin oOsec, and Taranaki was badly beaten by Clive in a mile go, the victor having a light weight up. Most of the big guns failed to put in an appearance.
