WEEKLY SKIN S&LES. There were medium entries of skins at the various auction marts yesterday, very few of them being of the best quality. The trade was only fairly represented, and biddings were slack, consequently a further decline in prices took place. The skins have not been stripping as well as was expected this season, and fellmongera profess to have discovered that the values ruling a fortnight ago were too high to bo payable, and that present quotations ate about fair market values. All hides and calfskins were cleared at tariff rates, and fat upheld last week’s prices. Prices realised were as follow ••—Butchers’ best cross-breds 4s 9d to 60, medium do 3s 6d to 4s 6d, and inferior sorts 2s 6d to 3s 3d; best long-wools 4s 9d to 5a 7d, medium do 3a 6d to 4a 6d; beat merinoea 3s 9d to 4s Bd, medium do 2s 9d to 3s Gd, inferior 2s to 2s 6d; cross-bred lambskins 7d to Is 2d; pelts 5d to 7d; dry cross-breds at equal to 4d to per lb for merinoes and 4d to 5d for all good cross-breds. Rough fat brought from l£d to Ifi for best sorts. GERALDINE. The fortnightly sale at Geraldine yesterday‘was fairly well attended, but there was no apparent rise in prices. Two-tooth wethers and maiden; ewes realised 13s 3d, three-quarter-bred hoggets up to 10s lid, two, four, six and eight-tooths 11s 3d. One line of shorn sheep—two-tooths—was penned, being the first shorn sheep in the yards this season; it brought 7a. In pigs there was a fair entry, the prices being from 2a to Bs. In cattle, calves fetched 18s, yearlings £3. WEST MELTON. The usual monthly sale was held on Monday. The weather was fine and the attendance fairly numerous. Congratulations were the order'of the day on the benefits to all by the late rains. There was a small entry of sheep, but prices showed an upward tendency, and all felt hopeful of a further advance. The entry was cleared at the following prices:— Cross-bred ewes and'wethers 10s, crossbred ewes and lambs (all counted) 7a 6d, do hoggets Bs, merino’ owes and lambs at 7s Gd to 8a; pigs, suckers s’, stores 12a.
