MAIL TO BIRDLING’S FLAT.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— What is the reason that there has not been any mail delivered in this locality since June 6 ? Is it owing to suspension of the railway traffic between here and Rabbit Island, through the overflow of Lake Ellesmere ? If so, that is a very lame excuse, as the road is still passable, also the road and railway line to Little River, where a mail is delivered thrice weekly vi& Pigeon Bay. I think the Postal Department are treating the residents here very unfairly, in not ing to deliver a mail, considering thjlfe are ho obstacles in the way, Nowfif a private individualhad the contract of carrying the mail, ho would undoubtedly have to do so, come what may, or else have himself reported at head-quarters.—l am, & c> , Wm. BIRDLING, Jun, Birdling’a Plat, July 13.
