The settlers in Pelorua Sound are taking steps to foster the oyster industry, and several applications are to be sent to the Commissioner of Customs for permissive licenses for artificial oyster beds. Two fishermen, named Charles Nelson and J. Herdman, charged with using a net in the Hutb Eiver, were fined £lO, with 15s costs each. Mias Martha Myers (fourth daughter of Mr Judah Myers), a young lady popularly known in musical circles, died this afternoon of meningitis.
