A SECRET PROCESS. [Special to Pbess Association.] MELBOURNE, June 10, At a meeting of shareholders in the Broken Hill Central Mine some warm remarks were passed anent the proposed sale of the property. One speaker alleged that the syndicate wanted the mine for a new secret process of treatment, of sulphides. They did not desire to publish the secret to the world, but wished to work it in this way to the fullest advantage. Mr Adams, mine manager, explained his action in announcing the new discovery. Its probable value might be about .£15,000, but he could not tell definitely. The Chairman stated that the syndicate was willing to allow shareholders to benefit by the new find. The Invista Company (Kuatonu) crushed sixteen tons of dirt for Lawson’s for a yield of 398 ounces of gold, and for the Otama claim, on the same field, crushed forty pounds of picked atone for fortyfour ounces of retorted gold. Johns and party, trlhuters in Otama, crushed sixty pounds of specimen stone for eighty-three ounces of gold. Several new claims have been pegged out in this district. HOKITIKA, June 10, An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in tho Humphreys Gully Company was held this afternoon. The local shareholders were largely represented, and seventy thousand proxies were handed in. A resolution, accepting the offer of Mr David Ziman to provide additional capital to bring in the Arahura Eiver, was unanimously carried. Mr Ziman offered to provide £20,000 at once if the company found the remaining £30,000 and started operations immediately. Mr Ziman will provide the capital from London and Paris. DUNEDIN, June 10.
