SPEECH BY SIR W. V. HARCOURT. [Special to Pbkhs association.! LONDON, May 23. Sir William Harcourt, Chancellor of the Exchequer, addressing a meeting in tho city appealed to the experience of fifty years in favour or the gold standard, and said that the Government would never favour bimetallism on anv conditions. BERLIN. May 22. The Lower House of tho Prussian Diet, by a majority of 95, adopted a motion asking the Government to convene k Monetary Conference with a view to securing the adoption of bimetallism by all tho countries of the world, including England.
