The stewards o? the Auckland Trotting Club held a meeting lash night to consider a letter sent in by Mr George M’Bdde, complaining of the conduct of the stirrer in regard to his horses at Saturday’s races. Tho letter reached tho Secretary yesterday morning. The subctanca of it was, that in tho Ulster Handicap, M’Bride’s horse, Dnko C,, was on the’ SGseo mark, IGseo behind the limit horse, but was not permitted to start till 25seo behind tho limit horse, and that iu tho Harness Trot the limit homo was at 48i'cc, but Three Chcsro, tho scratch horse, was started 36ssc after tho limit horse, Mr A. It. Harris presided at tho meeting. Mr M’Bride’s fcle- waa read, and ho was .asked to Bubataatiato his charges, which it wai agreed should bo taken separately. Evidence was then given by Mr M’Bride, Mr S. O. Carlton, tho otartcr, and others. Mr Abbot corroborated Mr Carlton’s statement aa to time recorded on a t'top watch in the Harness Trot. After some discussion it wan reaolvad that the accusations made by Mr M’Brido against tha starter, Mr Carlton, had been entirely disproved, and on account of thcco statements being so completely disproved Mr M’Brida should bo disqualified during the pleasure of the stewards. As a result of the decision Mr M’Bride’s horses did not run to-day. AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB, Tho second day of tho autumn meeting of tho Auckland Trotting Club was held at Pofctar’a Paddock to-day. The weather was fine, though tho course was heavy from the recant rain. Tho attendance numbered 1800.
