At the Postal Convention Mr Todd estimated the loss on the Port Darwin line, which the colonies would have to pay, at ,£5000 ; and on tho New Zealand guarantee £8676. It turns out, however, that the receipts from the former exceed the amount of the guarantee by nearly £IOOO. and the colonies will have nothing to pay. Some contribution will be required to make the New Zealand guarantee good. THE RAILWAY RATES. MELBOURNE, Mat 11. In forwarding the report of the Railway Conference to the Premier, the Commissioners attached a memorandum,stating that they anticipated that the net result to the Victorian railways would be approximately £SOOO to £BOOO per annum increase in revenue on the basis of the present business in wool and merchandise, CARRIAGE OP VICTORIAN PRODUCE. MATl2.fl The Government has completed arrangementa with the Blue Anchor and Aberdeen Shipping Companies for carrying Victorian produce to England at substantially reduced rates. From June to September there will be a three-weekly service} after that at intervals cf from ten to fourteen days. ADELAIDE, Mat 11. The Government baa approved of the Railway agreement.
