Owing to the ravages of tho phylloxera, tho shipments of Brandy from the Cognac districts have fallen oil inxn.ensely, and although there is always plenty of so-called Brandy on the market, a great deal of it is distilled from anything but the grape. Under these circumstances it is well for the consumer that new sources of supply should he opened up,, and it is not the less satisfactory that that source should be one of our own colonics. A considerable shipment of Australian Brandy has been marts by Messrs Joshua ,'Csj.othere, of Port Melbourne, and since its arrival in London its quality has been tested by the medical jommla and other cxr.'orts, and they speak of it in the liighest terms. The journals in question have specially regarded it from the medical point of view, and they testify to its purity ss a genuine grape Brandy."
