Since be was remanded with Wilde, Taylor has made statements which are likely to lead to many arrests. COLONIAL JUDGES. After the Easter recess Lord Rosebery intends to present a Bill in the House of Lords providing for certain colonial judges being appointed members of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. MONETARY CONFERENCE. The colonial Agents-General have unitedly decided to write to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, urging the importance of a monetary conference and the presence of one or more colonial delegates. RETIREMENT OF THE SPEAKER. The Hon A. W. Peel, in resigning the Speakership, made an eloquent speech, in which he said that he trusted the House of Commons would, in conducting its business, continue a model for colonial and foreign Assemblies. The leader of the House gave notice of a motion thanking Mr Peel for the eminent services rendered to the State and praying that the Queen would suitably reward him. The motion was seconded by the Right Hon A. J. Balfour. CONTEMPT OF COURT. The proprietor of Fair Play has Tbeen fined .£SO and costs for contempt of court in publishing a paragraph concerning a case still sub judice. A STEAMER DISABLED. The steamer Strathord, from Lyttelton, has called in at St Vincent with her propeller broken. It will be necessary for her to discharge a portion of her cargo. AN APPEAL DISALLOWED. BRUSSELS, April 8. The appeal in the case of Mrs Joniauz has been disallowed. PRESIDENT CLEVELAND. WASHINGTON, April 8. President Cleveland has declined to be nominated for the third term as President. THE ARMENIAN ATROCITIES. CONSTANTINOPLE, April 8. Sir P. H. W. Currie, British Ambassador, has had a cordial interview with the Sultan, during which Armenian reforms were discussed. The other embassies support the British demand for the cessation of atrocities.
