AUCKLAND NEWS.
[Per Peesj Association.] AUCKLAND, March 2. A dwelling, owned by Mis Wfaewill and occupied by'Miss Christie, dressmaker, at the corner of Vincent and Cook Streets, baa been burned. The origin of the fire is unknown. Miss Christie had her furniture and stock insured for .£250 in the National Office. A house adjoining, owned by Mrs Wbewill and occupied by W. M’Laughiin, wes partly damaged. Mail odvicLS state that Colonel North snd party, who took up the shares in the Silverton mine, Waihi',secured an offer for a fixed period at a considerable premium. Ten thousand shares have been reserved. The National Association is starting a monthly journal called Liberty to further its objects. The Harbour Board baa authorised Mr A. H. Nathan, who is going to England, to make inquiries relative to the proposed conversion of the loans of 1874 and 1882.
