The New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Hurunui, in command of Captain, C. C. Plunket, arrived on Saturday afternoon from Cardiff, viil Otago Heads, with a full cargo of coal. The Hurunui was here last year, and since then she hah. done some satisfactory work. The round voyage from Lyttelton and hack, including six weeks spent at London, and Cardiff, has occupied just eight months. The passage from Lyttelton to London was dona in the good time of eighty-five days. Of the CBpta»Plunko^repurt«.thabf»irs|Sßt6ad3V

winds were fallen in with during the early part of the voyage. The equator was crossed on Dec. 25, twenty-five days out, and the south-east trades, which were very light, only took the ship as far as I7deg. south 32deg. west, on Jan. 1. The passage across the Southern Ocean was remarkable for fine weather and light winds, and the royals i were only in four or five times during this portion of the passage. The Snares were sighted an Feb. 25, eightyseven days out, and the following day the ship reported off Otago Heads after another smart passage. The elements hare been somewhat unkind along the coast, for the barque was becalmed for thirty-six hours off Akaroa. Captain Plunket, who is to be congratulated upon his continued smart passages, has . still associated with him as officers, Mr C. V. M’Carthy, chief, and Mr G. Seely, second. TELEGRAPH NOTICE BOARD.
