It is understood that the Labour party only venture on this course because they believe that the Government is secure. John Morton applied to the full court to-day for an order to restrain the Premier from discharging the functions of Attorney-General, and remove him from the office of Solicitor-General. The ground of tho application was that the section of the Constitution Aot allowing a member of the Legislative Assembly to hold these offices had been repealed, aud that Mr Reid therefore was acting illegally. The Chief Justice said that the Court had no power to deal with the matter, and refused to hear argument. INCITING TO MURDER, Henry Boyd was convicted of inciting to murder under sensational circumstances, related in a message of Feb. 7. and was sentenced to tea years’ penal servitude.
