Lyttelton Times Office, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Harvest work lately has made good progress. Fortunately after the smart downpour at the end of last week the weather has been all that could be desired. Transactions in new Wheat continue comparatively restricted, farmers at the moment feeling averse to selling at current quotations. These stand at 2s 3d to 2s 3|d for Tuscan and Pearl, and 2s Id to 2a 2d for Hunter’s. Oats. —The heavier descriptions are not offering freely. For any brought forward oatmeal millers are buyers at Is to Is 4d, Shipment to the United Kingdom, however, under present circumstances is likely to assume considerable proportions. Stomt feed 1b 2d to Is 3d, other sorts Is to. Is 2d. Barley.—The market presents no fresh features, and values are unaltered. Best samples 3s 6d to 3s 7d, extra Sa Bd, ordinary to good 3s to 3s 3d; Capo barley, few buyers, at Is 6d to Is 9d; rye corn Is 6d to 2fa, with slow demand. Beans and Peas.— The rainfall on Saturday last did a lot of good for the bean and pea crop. Quotations are unchan gisd. Beans 2s 2d to 2s 3d, Prussian Blusei Ds 6d to 2s Bd, Flovb.—Millers’ quotations remain at £7 for roller, ~6 10s for stone. Grari? Seed.—Business in ryegrass has noticed ly dropped, and prices are nob so firm. Farmers’ lots 2s 6d to 2s 9d, better quality 3a, • extra 3s 3d, machinedressed 3s 3d to 8s 6d. The first flush of: the cocksfoot market having subsided, prices for all grades have receded. This is duo to a rumoured drop in the Bullish market, which has up to the present ruled pretty high. The fall lately has more particularly affected seed weighing 12 to 131 bto the bushel. We quota 3£cl tto 3£d for seed off one or two riddles, aad 3s-d for the same but of greater w'flight and cleaner in sample. For mach in e dressed the market is unsettled. Dairy Produce. —Butter 6d to 7d, factory Bd, che ene 3-jd to 4d.
