LAND BOARD.
The Canterbury Land Board-3-met-on Thursday; present—Messrs J, W. A. Merchant (Commissioner of Crowu-Lande), D. M’Millan, E. Meredith, A. C. Pringle and the Hon W. C. Walker. The following applications were granted :—Francis S. Emerson, section 36487, block X., Shepherd’s Bush Survey District, 47 acres; William Henry Walker, sections 36437 -and 36488, block X., Westarfield Survey district, 99a 3r 38p. It was resolved to lease the Crown land in: the Waipara riverbed for after making provision for the accommodation of travelling flocks and for the use of the Waipara Hotel. The proposals from the Mackenzie County Council for the expenditure of thirds and fourths rural sections 85946 and 36459 were approved. E. R. Holton was granted permission to remove part of the boundary fence of lot 7, block ISi, Cheviot Surrey District to within half achain ofi the crown of the road in Jed~ Valley,, on condition that the occupation of land enclosed should be surrendered on demand. The following leases of reserved lands on the Cheviot estate were granted : A. H. Forbes, adjoining lot I, block XII., Lowry Peaks Survey District, 5a 2r, annual, rental 16s €d, terms seven years; ; C. J. Westland, adjoining lot 1, block XVII., Lowry Peaks Survey District, 96a 2r, .annual rental, £9 18s, term seven; years.
