The brigantine Stanley, for Kaipara, waa towed to eea on Saturday, and set sail to the fresh southerly breeze, which should carry her well on her northward journey. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S.S. Tongatirp left' yesterday afternoon fpr Timaru. The .ship Hermioae will be placed in the graving dock upon discharging her merchandise. She is to be the first wool ship of the season from Lyttelton. The sphooner Zior, from Bluff for Port Robinson, With a cargo of timber, passed the Heads on Saturday. The Union Steamship Company's steamer Penguin arrived from Wellington on Saturday morning, and left during the afternoon for Duaedin, where she is to undergo her periodical overhaul. Her running waa taken np by the Rotorua, which left for Wellington on Saturday night. Captain Smith brought the Rotorua up from Dunedin, but changed vessels here with Captain Manning, who went north in command of the Rotorua. TIMARU. The b.b. Ohau called on Friday evening to take on board some produce for Napier, and sailed at 9 p.tn. for Lyttelton. The schooner Isabella Anderson sailed on Friday evening for Wanganui with a load of mill staffs and grain. On Saturday morning the steamers Brunner and Herald arrived from the south. The Brunner brought 80 tons of general merchandise, and the .Herald 12 tons, from Dunedin. The latter also brought 128 bales of wool and 28 casks of pelts from Oamaru, to be transhipped to the Tongariro. Both steamers went north in the evening, each taking about 100 tons of produce. The barque Helen Denny, from London, viA Nehon, with 400 tone of original cargo, made the roadstead during Friday night, and waa towed in on Saturday morning. After discharging she goes to Auckland to load. The Helen Denny was the first sailing ship to take a tow-line from the new tug Timaru, and the compound vessel did her work satisfactorily.
