i’Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 30. Mr George Darrell, actor, returned by the Alameda from the United Suatae. James Douter, on a charge of forgery, has been committed for trial. Miss Mary Krout, correspondent of tho Inter-Ocean, arrived by the Alameda to write descriptions of New Zealand for American journals. Mr Frank Liwry, in response to a requisition from electors at Kaipara and Helensvilie, will address meetings in the interest of Mr Jackson Palmer’s candidature for Waitomata.
Mr Samuel Vaile explained his railway scheme to the Railway Commissioners, and received a patient and courteous hearing.
