[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND. March 29. Tenetahi, part owner of Hautura laland. Little Barrier, offered the Premier the outstanding interest of himself and family for £4750. The Premier replied that he had a document in bis possession which committed all the Natives interested to the sale of the entire island for £3OOO. Mr Massey addressed a large meeting of electors of the Waitemata electorate at Helenaville. He denounced party government, and said that he would not pledge himself to blindly follow any man or party. He approved of the Upper House being elected by local bodies, and that its number should be one-half that of the Lower House, but that its members should sit for a longer term. He was opposed to an elective Governor, and objected to triple electorates, land nationalisation and the single tax. The railways should be run by a non-political Board on commercial lines. The licensing districts were too largo, as was the percentage to make a poll effective. Ha was opposed to denominational or sectarian education. A vote of confidence and thanks was passed with three dissentients.
