A meeting of the Canterbury Metropolitan Trotting Association was he’d yesterday evening. There was a full attendance of member.*. Correspondence was read from the Albury Racing Club, explaining why it held two trotting events at its recent meeting without fir.-t obtaining the approval of the Association, end asking under the circumstances that the disqualification of the owners* horses taking part therein should be removed. It wan resolved, under the cucuLof-taaces, to remove the disqualification. The Chairman’s action in advising the Duntroon Raping Club to submit its programme containing trotting events to the Dunedin Jockey Club, under whose jurisdiction the cluo in question is, was approved. P. Butler was one , of these, and Au Revoir was, it is stated, tried over the Great Autumn Handicap' distance with satisfactory results, while : Retina was another that is reported to have been g dloped by moonlight. Later on Ben Godfrey and Awarua Rose were despatched for a fast gallop over a mile, and Awarua Rope appeared to hold bis companion at the finish. Black Cloud cantered to the seven furlong post, and came home at half-pace; and ;Taredina and Golden Fleece separately performed similar exercise. Watchword accomplished easy work, and Miss Madge, after cantering, spurted five, furlongs.’ Abel Tasman had the assistance of Roseguard over tho last five furlongs of a last gallop of one mile, while Lord Aoton covered a mile and a quarter at a strong pace. Loveshot cantered and spurted five furlongs, and Barmby and Strath Braan were among those that were restricted to cantering exercise. Norton and Wedlock cantered to the top of the straight and brushed home fast, and Kuinino and. Dunaaudel performed a similar tusk. Inez and Lord of Misrule were associated in a strong- gallop over, a mile, aijd Blarney and Goosander,■ who arrived from., the,

north yesterday, cantered. Blarney is a powerful horse who apnears capable of galloping fast, and Goosander is very like her sister. Merganser, although she is built on • a rather lighter scale. Token was brought home the last five furlongs of a mile gallop by Emerald, and then cantered once round, aad Philaon appeared to hold Ultimatum eafe over six furlongs covered at racing pace. Wesimers, who arrived from Wangamii yesterday, looking big and well, .canteied once round, end was then joined by Torn Pom, and the pair covered another round at three-quarter pace. Neroli, another of the recent arrivals, looks in capital health, and moved in nice style once round, the last six fnrlonga of which were covered at a strong pace. Erin-go-Bragh and Lady Sockburn were associated in a strong gallop over a mile, and Barnardo covered the last six furlongs of one round at top. Clarence was schooled over the big fences, jumping well, and Vos on gang, Beadonwell, Britotnarre and a number of other horaea worked after breakfast. CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
