A QUESTIONABLE EXAMPLE.
TO THE EDITOH. Sis. —Your correspondent, “ A Watcher/’ in his desire to arouse members of the Church of England in the matter of the Harper memorial, makes use of an example which, if ho had been more fully informed, I think he would nob have held up for imitation. The unknown stranger, without friends, has doubtless accomplished certain results, but neither those results nor the means by which he has achieved them are worthy the imitation or emulation of honest and respectable people. The funds which have erected the buildings on Latimer Square are In too many cases the hardly-earned savings of comparatively poor people, which they have been induced by personal solicitation, and by utterly misleading statements, to surrender. * * *-I am, &o„ JOHN BENDELY.
