Oa New Year’s Day the Kaiapoi aad Timaru Ride Companies fired their third annual match at Timaru, and the result was a tie, each team scoring 654 points. The ranges were 200yds, SOOyd'a and SOOyds, seven, shots at each distance; Snider rifles. The scores were ;

Bata 71, Private Cnsden 63, Private Templeton 55, Private Hanna 46; total, 654. Timaru—Sergeant Morgan 71, Sergeant Cross 70, Sergeant Ellis 66, Private M’Nab 71, Private M’latcbh 71, Private Ellis 69,’Private Thoreau 67, Private Donne SS, Private Higgins 57, Private Worthy 54 ; total; 634; Last year Kaiapoi won by one point.
