[Per Frigs AssocxATiOK.] AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. The assay value of the.bullion recovered by the New Zealand Crown Mines Company, from 276 tons ore crushed and treated during December, was JJ1250. The final cleaning up of the Golden Cross claim, Waitekuri, yielded J 23750 worth of bullion. GISBORNE, Jan. 2. A meeting has been held, tho Mayor presiding, at which a committee was formed to banquet the Hon J. Carroll and
Wi Pere, members for the district. The other three Maori members are to be invited, also Ministers. WELLINGTON, Jan. 2. Judge Barton has been appointed Judge of tbe Validation Court under the Act of last session, to settle disputed titles to native lands.
