NEW ZEALAND CYCLISTS’ ALLIANCE. A general meeting of the New Zealand Cyclists* Alliance was held at the Pioneer Bicycle Club’s rooms last evening; present —Messrs B. A. England (Ashirartoa) in tha chair, and Messrs W. J, S. Hayward and F. J. Dunn (Pioneer), W. B. Eyre (Dunedin), W. F. Waller (Auckland), E,Sneddon (Ashburton), T. , W. Reese (Napier), W. G. Garrard (Timaru), W. E. Mills (Kirwee) and H. J. Moss (Hon. Sec.) The Secretary reported that the Auckland Club, owing to the track there being unsuitable, had decided not to run the two championships allotted to it. The executive had met and allotted the two championships (half-mile and fivemile) to the Eangiora Athletic Association and North Canterbury Bicycle Club. The action of tho Executive was confirmed. Mr W. B. Eyre moved—" That the Alliance notes with, satisfaction that the Customs Department has consented to refund the duty on trophies won by the New Zealand cyclists in Australia, but regrets that tho department declines to remit the amount of fine {£d 7s) imposed for evasion of duty on parcel containing bag and medals won by tho team, as the evasion was unwittingly, not deliberately attempted.” Mr Moss seconded too motion, which, after a discussion, waa carried. Messrs E. Richards (Fernaide) and R. M. [Sinclair (Ranuiora) were reinstated as amateurs. Mr Waller was appointed to attend the cycling championships at Timaru in the interests of the Alliance. The appointment cf ,Mr W. B. Eyre as handicappar for the Pioneer Bicycle Chib was confirmed. The Invercargill Cycling Club and North Shore Amateur Athletic Club were affiliated to the Alliance. After attending to some minor matters tho meeting closed. CHRISTCHURCH CYCLING CLUB.
