WORK AND WAGES.
THE MINERS’ STRIKE. 1 Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Dec. 10. Tho Scotch miners intend to resume work on Monday on tho employers’ terms. The usual monthly meeting of the Oommittse of tha Waimate branch of tho Shearers and Labourers’ Union was held at the Society’s offica on Saturday evening, there being a full attendance. Mr Brown presided. Correspondence was read from the Hon R. Seddon, Messrs Mercier, M’Donald and others; Mr J, O’Brien reported that the organising work was proceeding very satisfactorily in the North Island, aud that the station representatives in the South Island were doing very useful work. The questions now under ballot were being taken up with a great deal of enthusiasm, and there was every indication of a large increase of membership for the year. This was considered very satisfactory. After dealing with matters of a private nature the meeting ended.
