WELLINGTON ART SOCIETY.
[Peb Press Association.! WELLINGTON. Deo. 9. At the annual meeting of the Fine Art* Society, Mr Travers commented very strongly on the Council of the Society appointing themselves both judges and Hanging Committee. He said that better works had been rejected than many of those accepted, and suggested that an exhibition should be held of the pictures refused. The course adopted deserved, ho said, serious condemnation. After considerable discussion, the resolution was withdrawn, the mover saying that his object had been attained, and that the Committee would, no doubt, in future, adopt different methods.
