[Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. The case against Thomas for perjury, on being re-triad, fell through, as is was made to appear that the prisoner might not have known that it was a promissory note he was accused of signing. Kirk got twelve mouths for attempting to abscond, the other charges being abandoned. Patrick Scott was tried again for disposing o£ wearing apparel stolen from Mr Carncross, M.H.E. He was convicted and sentenced to twelve months. Clarke, prosecutor in the private libel action against Haggen, having tailed to appear, hia recognisances of .£SO were estreated. The criminal calendar has closed.
