CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, Deo. 9. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., R.M., and R. Westenra, Esq.) Obscene Language.— Jane Gray was charged with using obscene language in Lichfield street, on Dec. 9. Accused raid she did not remember using the words named in the information. The evidence of Sergeant Wileon and Constable Ramsay showed that she had used bad language in Lichfield street between twelve and one o’clock that morning. Accused was convicted, and ordered to be imprisoned till the rising of the Court. LYTTELTON. Wednesday, Dec. 9. (Befojp J. T. Brice, Eaq.) Refusal oE Duty. —James Woodcock and Thomas Kinsella, seamen on board the steamer Aorangi, were cent to gaol for forty-eight hours for refusing to obey the lawful commands of the officers. Drunkenness. —Two first offenders were each fined ss, or in default the. usual alternative for this offence.
