ST ALBANS SCHOOL.
The scholars of the St Albans School held their'annual concert in the schoolroom last evening. There was a large attendance, and many people were unable to gain admittance. The scholars who took part in the entertainment were well trained by the head master, Mr Speight, and the teachers, and many of the items called forth hearty applause from the audience. The part songs were exceedingly well sung. Some very good recitations were given by Misses M. Hunter. E. Hyde, L. Carpenter, Violet Loose, Ruby Capper, Annie Clarke, and Masters P. Piddea and S, Travers. Misa Euby Capper sang " We’d Better Bide a Wao ” very nicely. Mr Chapman played a violin solo; dumbbell and barbell exercises were performed by a number of boys, and Misses H-. Leach and A. Walker played a pianoforte duet. Owing to a number of people not being able to gain admittance last evening the concert will be repeated this evening.
