HIS OPINIONS ON THE FROZEN MEAT TRADE. Ffeom ode own coeeespokdent.l WELLINGTON, Dec.'S. The Hon J. M’Eenzie entertained the Hon J. M’lntyre, of Victoria, last night. Sir P. Buckley and the Hon W. P. Beeves were among the guests.. The Premier wired hie regret at being unable to be present. Sir B, Stout was unable to attend through Indisposition. Mr M'lntyre is of opinion that Australia will soon be in keen competition with the New Zealand dead meat trade.' Ho admits the climatic advantage and the magnificent water supply of this Colony, but contends that Victoria possesses more agricultural land of superior quality. Mr M'lntyre will probably go to London as AgentGeneral, in which event ho will devote special attention to expanding the Home market for Australian dead meat. Ho admits the extraordinary advantages for dairying here, but points to the facts that Victoria has got a long lead in the development of the industry, and holds the London market. The Hon J. MTfityf®, Victorian Minister for Lands, proposes to go to Auckland vift the Hot Lakes district, and leaves for Napier to-morrow morning.
