The work of dismantling the barque Belle Isle, and otherwise preparing her for use as a coal hulk, is progressing apace. The Bails and a quantity of gear are shortly to be disposed of by auction. A start was made yesterday to effect repairs to the barque Thurso. Her cabin fittings have all been removed for the purpose of getting at some of the after plates, and a number of these are to be taken out and renewed. All the work that can he got at will be done before the vessel goes into dock. The Spanish training ship Nautilus was taken out of the graving dock yesterday, after having had a few patches of copper put on below water line. The cargo steamer Tekoa, of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s line, will arrive in port to-morrow for the purpose of - having some repairs effected in the graving dock. Yesterday waa an unusually slack day in port, the only shipping movements being the arrival of the coasters Annie mil from Kaipara and Falcon from Havelock, both timber laden, and the steamer Jane Douglas from Akaroa.
